Alma M Brown, 99, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006, at the Sunset House. She was a former member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. As a young woman, Alma enjoyed playing the piano and performing in school plays, while at Notre Dame Academy, where she graduated in 1924. She was also active in the local theater., Alma Was a secretary at the Toledo Blade for Grove Patterson, former editor in chief during the 1930's.
Survivors include her daughters, Suzanne M (James )McNutt, Janet K Thoele, Mary (George) Danchisen, Josephine E. (John )Grosjean; son, David N (Nancy) Brown; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and her sister Elizabeth Kantner. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H Brown who she married in 1935. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Dennis McNutt in 2000; her parents Charles and Alma (Roberts) Brown and several brothers and sisters.
Friends are invited to visit from 2 to 8 PM Friday in the Ansberg West Funeral, 3000 SylvaniaAve., where funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday. Father Martin Donnelly will officiate. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice of Northwest Ohio or charity of the donors choice.
