Mr. Allen passed away at the age of 78, and resided in Grawn. He had previously lived in Indian River and Rochester. He was the son of the late Carl and Jeanette (nee Houghton) Allen. His beloved wife, Myrna (nee Hohl) predeceased him. They had married on August 27, 1955, and had dated in high school. He was survived by his beloved daughter, two grandsons, his sister, and his dear extended family and friends. He was a 1953 graduate of Troy High School. He then attended Lawrence Tech, and received a degree in Engineering from Kettering University, formerly the General Motors Institute. He was employed by General Motors as an engineer, and after 35 years of service, he retired. At that point, he and his wife relocated to Indian River. They belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Indian River Sportsman's Club. Carl also maintained a sustaining membership in the Boy Scouts of America. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, model building, and working in his workshop. He was a devoted and loving family man, and will be dearly missed. He was predeceased by his wife Myrna, his son Kurt, his brother Neil, and his special dog, L.B. He chose cremation, and he and Myrna will be interred in Christian Memorial Cemetery at a future date.
