Denise Boyd Obituary

BOYD Denise Dee Boyd, 53, of Swanton, departed on Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was born January 11, 1960, and was a 1978 graduate of Swanton High School.

Knowing Dee was to know that she was passionate about baking and cooking; to receive a plate was to receive love. She loved gardening and had an amazing green thumb. Her grandkids loved nothing more than having craft time at Grannies. She had a knack for coming up with nicknames for everyone and every animal that always made us laugh.

Her nickname was Dr. Doolittle, for her amazing gift of being able to deliver, care for, and tame any animal. Dee loved her family and showed it with an abundance of unconditional love and patience. You could always count on her for sound advice and a comforting ear.

Dee was the loyal wife of 33 years to Tony Boyd. A wonderful and loving mother to two children, Julie (Phillip) Matlock and Jason (Deanna Wilson) Boyd. A kind and nurturing Granny to six grandchildren, Destiney, Darshae, Haley, Deonte', Riley and Jailee, who all love her and will miss her deeply. She is also survived by her parents, Martin and Julia Scherzer; brother, Eric Scherzer; sister, Tamara (Greg) Maki; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Kathy Boyd, Joe and Karen Boyd; also many relatives and very dear life long friends.

Dee Dee will be received in heaven by Mary Kelly, Joseph Scherzer, Jimmy Kelly, Beverly Smith, and Christina Smith who will guide her on her next journey. Dee will sadly be missed and thought of fondly and often. She took a piece of so many caring hearts the day she left us. In her place she left years of joyous memories filled with smiles and infectious laughter and a forgiving love that is as warm as a blanket, that no one is soon to forget. While there are many broken hearts, she is at peace in the embrace of God, watching down on all of us as our Guardian Angel. We love you so very deeply, we will never forget the sacrifices you made to take care of us. Your dedication, wisdom, and life lessons will never be forgotten. We appreciate you!

Family and friends may visit at Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Rd. on Thursday November 14, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. with a church service at 7 p.m. A memorial dinner will follow at Angola Gardens 7001 Angola Rd. Holland, Ohio on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 5-9 p.m.
