Both Parents Immigrated from Norway to the USA. Mabel was younger
than her sisters Anna and Ella Olsen. Her Parents married in 1888. Mabel's
Mother immigrated to the USA in 1887. Her Mother Annie was
the Widow of Johannes Olsen in 1887. Mabel's Mother Annie Olsen
remarried to Ole Olsen, brother of Johannes Olsen as a young Widow
with baby Anna Olsen.

Grave Marker has DOB 1881 -- Memorial DOB based on actual DOB
Writer to notify Lakewood Cemetery to see if they can correct dob
error on Mabel's grave marker. All immediate Family deceased.

** In Loving Memory of Mabel **
Mabel will be loved, missed and remembered forever in the hearts
of all who loved her. Mabel's Parents Ole and Annie immigrated
from Norway to the USA before she was born. Mabel's older sister
Anna was born in Norway. Mabel and her siblings grew up in
Minnesota. It appears that Mabel and her spouse William resided in
California when William passed away. Mabel's husband William passed
away as a young adult in San Francisco California in 1921.
By 1930 US Census, Widowed Mabel resided in the Mpls MN area again.
By 1930 She was sited living at a Norwegian Boarding Home for Women
in Downtown Mpls on 14th St. Both Mabel's Brothers passed away in 1929
and 1930. Their Family had been exposed to Tuberculosis . Brother
Merlin Olsen died May 1930 of T.B. By 1950 U.S. Census or before and per her Mother
Annie's 1954 Obituary, Mabel Gilman was living in Los Angeles California. Per their
Mother Annie's Obituary, Sister Anna Samdal was living in Long Beach CA in 1954.
Both were Widowed. Their late Brother Raymond Arthur Olsen's Widow had remarried
and moved to California. Their Nephew Raymond Arthur Jr. , his Spouse and Children
lived in California. Both Mabel and her Sister Anna returned in live in
Mpls Minnesota in later years. Sisters Emma & Ella resided in Mpls MN
as well as many cousins. They all spent time with their Special Cousin
Oline Olson Carlson in North Mpls MN. Much time on the phone and in person.
They loved to talk about family history, their late spouses, family events.
Mabel lived at Booth Manor Senior Highrise near Loring Park
in S. Mpls area in later years. Mabel's Sister Emma also
resided at Booth Manor. They enjoyed the many Senior Activities
and community events. Mabel was a Widow for many Years.
Emma was also a Widow when she lived at Booth Manor.
Our Family is not aware of Mabel having any children.
Mabel is buried next to her beloved late Spouse
William and near other Family Members at Lakewood Cemetery
in Mpls. Mabel is survived by many relatives in MN
and in Norway.

Died Dec. 3. Mabel was formerly employed as a
Military Secretary. She is survived by two Sisters
Ella Hokanson and Emma Rance, both of Minneapolis.
Arrangements were handled by Albion Funeral Home.

Mabel was living with a very large group of other adults, many
different surnames.

Not known why Mabel was living in a Boarding home. She had many
relatives living in Minnesota. The Boarding Home was sited as an Institution.
Mabel's Brother Merlin had T.B. illness at that time and passed away in 1930 of T.B.
Merlin passed away at a Sanitarium for persons with T.B. Not known if the Norwegian Boarding Home where Mabel resided was it was affiliated with
the Lutheran Deaconess Hospital that had a medical type lodging for persons
with serious illness, as T.B. and was located in close proximity. Not known how
many in Mabel's Family were affected by T. B. Mabel did not appear to have other
relatives residing at that Boarding Home at that same time. ( a page full of names)

To Note: Mabel's brother Merlin Olsen of passed away of T.B.in 1930.
Unknown why Mabel's spouse William Gilman passed away as a young adult.
Mabel's Cousin, Oline Olson Carlson told our Family that there was a lot
of Tuberculosis (T.B.) illness many years ago.

Many Family members changed Olsen spelling from Olsen to Olson after
immigration from Norway to the USA. Some Family kept Olsen,
others changed to Olson in same family. Unclear regarding Mabel's Family.
Some documents Olson, others Olsen.

Mabel's spouse William served in the US Military Navy during WWI.
He may have also been serving in the U.S. Military in California per a 1910
Federal Census.
