Bernieta Faye Fincher, 79, of Pittsburg, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Via Christi Hospital.
She was born December 16, 1933 at McCune, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Elsie (Fowler) McMillan.
She attended McCune schools and graduated from McCune Rural High School.
On April 4, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Lisle Fincher at Parsons, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2009.
Mrs. Fincher was a secretary and insurance agent for Bob Dittmann Agency for 16 years.
She also worked for Metropolitan Insurance Company where she retired in 1987 as Branch Administrator.
Membership was held in College Heights United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Show Me Harmony Chorus for 30 plus years and the Sweet Adelines since 1979.
Survivors include a son, Greg Fincher of Altamont, Kansas; two sisters, Maxine Braman of Frontenac, Kansas and Betty McMillan of Parsons, Kansas; five grandchildren, Carly Fincher, Jake Fincher and his wife, Chelsea, Dustin Fincher, Kyle Fincher and Kelly Fincher; and three great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Mark Fincher, two brothers, Lawrence McMillan and Fred McMillan, and three sisters, Doris Sexton, Lois Blake and Berniece Knight.
