Eber Raymond Smithart, age 69, of 315 South Street, died Monday morning at Veterans' hospital in Des Moines Iowa. A member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, he was a retired railroad man and had resided in Oskaloosa 29 years. He was born at Sigourney, the son of James and Mary Ann Keasling Smithart.

Surviving is the wife, Daisy Smithart of Oskaloosa; two daughters, Mrs Albert (Evelyn) Allison of Oskaloosa and Mrs Carl (Ethel) Wheeler of Des Moines; two sons, Raymond and Vernon Smithart of Oskaloosa; 12 grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs Eva Reider of Sigourney, Mrs Golda Hall of Ottumwa, Mrs Katherine Teller of Moravia and Mrs Vern Nicoli of Memphis, MO

Service will be at Powers funeral home Wednesday, June 14 at 2 pm with burial at Forest Cemetery. Rev Max Johnson of Assembly of God will officiate
