Mrs. Alma Iola Fuller Bohannon, age 97, of Plantation Walk, Carrollton, Georgia died Friday, March 30, 2012.

Mrs. Bohannon was born in Carroll County, Georgia on May 22, 1914, the daughter of the late Francis Marion Fuller, Sr. and Mary Ola Willis Fuller.

She graduated in 1933 from the A&M School and later married Joseph Hughes Bohannon. Mrs. Bohannon worked with her husband in their family businesses, Bohannon Grocery and the Army store. She was a member of the Carrollton Women's Civic Club, West Georgia Quilters Guild, AARP and Trinity Baptist Church. The family would like to especially thank the staff of the Meadows of Jacksonville, Alabama for the care they provided to their mother.

Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia Bohannon Cashen of Jacksonville, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Selby (Brenda) Bohannon of Carrollton; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hughes Bohannon; two sisters and three brothers.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 2 o'clock at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Lanny Reich officiating.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Carroll, Mickey Thompson, Andrew Batchelor, Jimmy Batchelor, John Lyons and Eric Henderson.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
