She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church for many years until her health declined. She taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir, and United Methodist Women, as well as Secretary to the Administrative Board.
She is survived by two daughters, Vivian Wooten (Jimmy) and Carole Burke (Clarence) both of Statesville; two sons, Gary Scott (Teresa) of Mooresville and Wayne Scott (Brenda) of Statesville; four grandchildren, Cathy Mitchell (Jody), Roger Miller (Stacey), Shelton Scott and Michael Scott; three step-grandsons: five great-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren and 1 step-great-great grandson; a sister, Catheryn Seng of Maryland; three sisters-in-law, Donna Hartness, Margie Hall of South Carolina, Leona Leggett of Virginia; and a brother-in-law, Don Scott (Gerry Lou).
Funeral services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is serving the family.
