Rose G. Chávez, mother, nannie, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 87 the evening of October 17, 2013, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Rose fought breast cancer courageously until her final journey with the Lord. Rose never complained and showed everyone around her how to keep the faith and to be strong.
Rose adored her family and friends immensely.
Special gratitude is extended to her grandchildren, brother, nieces, nephew and neighbors for their loving presence and support during her illness.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Chávez and two sons, Anthony Chávez and Larry Chávez.
Rose is survived by two daughters, Gloria Nieto and her husband, Ruben Nieto and Bernadette Irwin and her husband, Darren Irwin, eight grandchildren, David Gonzáles, Renee Carriaga, Ronnie Landavazo and Miranda, Christopher Landavazo and Gloria, Erica Pacheco, Amanda Williams, Hunter Irwin and Joshua Irwin, thirteen great-grandchildren, brother, Salomon García and sisters, Adelia Moya and Lola Padilla.
Rose will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 8:15 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW followed by a Memorial Mass. Rose will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery located 1900 Edith Blvd. NE.
