Judith D. Collier, 73, of Pierre, died Thursday, October 10 at Avera St. Mary's Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 15 at Lutheran Memorial Church with Pastor Sarah Goldammer officiating.
Judith was born February 1, 1940 in Downing, Wisconsin to Manvel and Gladys (Beam) Danielson. She grew up and attended high school in Linton, ND. After graduation she attended business school in Minneapolis and worked for the military for 30 years in administration and as a supply and procurement specialist.
Judy met Harry Collier at Wright Patterson AFB, OHIO in 1957 and they married in August of 1958. The two spent their 55 years together traveling the U.S. and Panama as Harry spent his career in the U.S. Air Force. They retired in 1979 and moved to Pierre in 2006.
Judy's loving and generous nature endeared her to every life she touched. She made it a point to be kind and loving to those who needed it the most.
She is survived by her daughters Jeannette Collier of Ocean City, MD., Glynis Collier of Rainier WA and Pierre, SD, her brothers Roger (Mary Lou) Danielson of Stayton, OR and Richard Danielson of Star Prairie, WI and sister Roberta (John) Lovald of Sturgis, SD.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, parents and son Reece Allan.
