James R., 74, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2002 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was born December 28, 1927 in Dresden, Tennessee to James Roy and Gladys (Parrott) Abernathy. James is survived by sons, David Abernathy and wife Teri of Missouri, Larry Abernathy and wife Kathy of Guthrie, Timothy Dale Abernathy of OKC, Mark Wayne Abernathy of OKC, and Steven Lewis Abernathy of OKC; one daughter, Carolyn Abernathy of OKC; one brother, Robert A. Abernathy of Michigan; and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Ruth. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 25, 2002 in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
