MILDRED J. (MILLIE) BROWN, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Emeritus Senior Living. Born July 28, 1924, in Huntington, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Louise Miller. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and former member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and volunteer activities. She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Ken) Thiele of Alexandria, Minn., Steven (Teresa) Brown of Chicago, Ill. and Julie (Mark) Braun of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Whitehurst of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Richard M. Brown, in 1984; two sisters, Anna Dolby and Alberta Ruth Lang; and brother, Arthur Miller. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Rev. Timothy Graham officiating. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
