John T. Fisher was born in Barren County, Kentucky, January 2, 1848; died March 1, 1926, at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 27 days. Was married to Martha E. Jones in year of 1868--January 14. To this union were born ten children, 6 boys and 4 girls. 6 of whom are still living--James T. Fisher of Urbana, Mo.; Mrs. Eliza E. Foster of Iowa Falls, Ia.; Henderson T. Fisher of Alden, Ia; Wallace E. Fisher of Louisburg, Mo.; Mrs. Zelda M. Moore of Urbana, and Omer Fisher of Urbana, Mo. Martha E., his wife,died April 18, 1902. Uncle John, as he was called, was a kind and loving father, a noble, an honest neighbor, a veteran of the Civil War. He leaves behind to mourn his departure--six children, twenty-five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one own brother, one own sister, five half-brothers and two half-sisters, a host of relatives and friends. All was done that loving hands could do, but to no avail. The Lord in whom he trusted called him home, he told the children he was ready to go. He died in full triumph of a living faith. Our father's face we shall see again once more when our feet touch the banks of that heavenly land and we meet on that shining shore. Copied by a granddaughter, Mrs. ? Hawkins, Goodson, Mo.
