Ships manifests show that Anna departed 12 Jun 1911 from Antwerp Belgium and arrived on the ship USS Lake Michigan and arrived 31 May 1911 in the Port of Quebec. Her final destination was listed there as Chicago.

When she came to America she later married to Joseph Strykulis 28 Jul 1912 in a Catholic service united by Anthony Brissko a Catholic Priest

Their first son was born Chester 'Strykulis' 8 Jul 1913, but sadly their second son Peter Strikulis died on the same day he was born, 27 April 1914. According to the records it was at 7 PM at their home at 4525 Hermitage Ave Chicago. Peter was laid to rest 29 Apr 1914 at St Casimer's in Chicago Illinois.

The following year their daughter was born Sophie Ann Strykulis 5 Jun 1915, some time after this all of their names were 'Americanized' and shortened to Strykul.

Their other children were born Maria Strykul 14 Jun 1916, Samuel Strykul 14 Jun 1918, John Arthur Strykul 30 Apr 1920, Daniel Strykul 27 Nov 1921.

Unfortunately her husband Joseph was killed in a tragic car accident 19 Mar 1923 only 10 days before the birth of his last son Joseph, who was born 28 Mar 1923. Joseph Strykul's obituary said his services were held 22 Apr 1923 and his burial was in Highland Cemetery.

Later after Joseph's death, Anna married Louis Hanyzewski who already had a son, Julius Budd 'Hank' 14 Dec 1916, from his previous marriage to Josephea 'Josie' Stejbach who died in the influenza epidemic 8 Dec 1918.

Louis remarried Franciszka 'Frances' Klodzinski 19 Nov 1919, and their son Edward Michael Hanyzewski was born 18 Sep 1920, who later became a Pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in the 1940's. Sadly his Mother passed just a few years after his birth due to an abscess on her lungs 5 Jun 1923

After her death is is thought that he married Anna around 1924. What is certain is that they had several children, Lucile 'Lucy' Ann 1925 Anna Harriet 1926, Helen C 1928... more about these later. On 12 Sep 1942 she married again to Alexander Theodore Dubicki

Later she was lovingly known by most family members as 'Busha' or 'grandmother' in Polish.Florida Divorce Index shows her divorce from Alex Theodore Dubicki 20 Jul 1972 and the Social Security Death Index shows her as dying South Bend Indiana 31 Aug 1976

Though she was divorced her obit shows her with the last name of Dubicki, and her memorial stone has her as Anna Strykul

Obituary for Anna S. Dubicki
Mrs. Anna Strykul Dubicki, 86, who lived with her daughter, Mrs. Sophie Clemens at 113 Village Way, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in St Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. Born on Jan. 6, 1890, in Russia, she had lived here since 1914, coming from Chicago.

Surviving besides Mrs. Clemens are four other daughters, Mrs. Mary Monroe of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Lucy McCuen of Michigan City, Mrs. Anna Schillens of Upland, Calif., and Mrs. Helen Coddens of North Liberty; six sons, Chester Strykul and Julius Bancer, both of South Bend, Sam Strykul of Decatur, Mich., John Strykul of Orlando, Fla., and Daniel and Joseph Strykul, both of Lakeville; 31 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home. Elder Charles A. Loucky of the Berian Church, Cicero, Ill., will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
