Mrs. Elsie J. Harnish
Mrs. Elsie J. Harnish, wife of Clair Harnish of R. D. 1, Alexandria, Morris Township, passed away at her home Wednesday morning, April 21, 1949, at 2:15 o'clock. She had been bedfast for the past seven weeks.
The deceased was born on February 2, 1891 at McAlevys Fort, a daughter of Frank and Alice (Houtz) Seigel. On May 6, 1915 she was united in- marriage with CJair Harnish at Alexandria.
She attended Muskingum College and Juniata College. For six years she taught in the public schools of Huntingdon County. Practically her entire life was spent in Morris Township.
Mrs. Harnish was a faithful member of Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church at Alexandria.
She is survived by her husband, her father, Frank Seigel of Alexandria, R. D, a son, Lloyd, at home and a daughter, Mrs. Florence Hammond of Petersburg, R. D. Three sisters, Miss Ruth Seigel of Detroit, Mrs. Esther Swigart of Newark, O., and Mrs. Laura Moulten of Beverly, Mass., and seven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church in Alexandria. The Rev. John Winters will officiate and interment will be made in. the Alexandria Cemetery. Friends may call at the late home after 6 o'clock Thursday evening. Temple funeral service.
