Mrs. Dorthea Anderson was born in Coral City, Wisc., December 25, 1869, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Olson.
She spent her first 11 years of life in Coral City, and in Highland Prairie, Minn.
In 1881 she moved with her parents to a farm three miles east of Bruce. Here she lived until womanhood and was married March 9, 1896, to C.A. Anderson of Chicago, Ill. They lived on a farm near Bruce until 1906 when they moved to Brookings. Here Mr. Anderson clerked in the Bee Hive store and later became owner of the IXL Grocery.
Mr. Anderson died in 1923. Mrs. Anderson passed away at 7pm October 5th, at the home of her daughter in Canton. Alma Thompson Dammen, daughter of her cousin, Thomas Thompson, stayed with her and nursed her the last few years of her life.
She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Mrs. Hogan Iverson of Canton; two sons: Obel, a student at National College of Chiropractic, Chicago; and Ralph, an instructor at Moose Lake, Minn.; and three sisters, Mrs. F.C. Norman of Minneapolis, Eva and Clara Olson of South St. Paul, and one brother Orrin Olson of Brookings, and one grandchild, Dorothy Iverson.
