Enlisted into Co. D. 7th Mississippi Battalion Infantry on October 12, 1863 at Enterprise, Mississippi for 3 years. Residence was Desoto, Mississippi. His wife was S. J. Carmichael.
He was mortally wounded at Franklin, Tennessee on November 30, 1864 in the left leg. His leg was amputated on December 1, 1864 in a Franklin Confederate Hospital. He was captured there on December 18, 1864 and later died as a POW in a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee on March 1, 1865.
