Martha was the daughter of Billie Alexander Vann, and the granddaughter of Milton Hugh Alexader, Sr and Trudie Maude Hardy Alexander. She was born in Monahans and lived there off and on her entire life. She married at a young age and became a mother at 18. She divorced her first husband and lived a vagabond life for a while, living in Oklahoma and Kansas for 3 years. She sent her daughters to live with their father in 1975. She remarried in the early 80s, this time to Fred Kemp. They were in Abilene with two other friends, drinking and driving when Fred lost control of the car. Martha was thrown from the car, but the car rolled on top of her. She died three days later from her injuries. She was survived by her two daughters, her husband, mother, two sisters and her grandparents.
