Gilbert Jacquez Barragan, 42, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1970 in Silver City, NM to Richard Pena and Guadalupe J. Barragan. Gilbert had worked as a Respiratory Technician for GRMC Oxygen. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing with his friends. He loved spending time with his children. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia T. Barragan of the family home; his mother, Guadalupe J. Barragan of Silver City; two daughters, Roselynn Barragan of Silver City; Alexandra Barragan of Silver City; he also loved Brandon and Jeremy Cuevas and Chantelle Carrasco as if they were his own; in-laws, Alfonso and Jean Torres; one sister, Yvonne Maldonado and husband Richard of Silver City; Alicia Jacquez who was considered and raised like a sister to him; three brothers, Richard Barragan and wife Dianna of Silver City; Billy Barragan and wife Barbara of Santa Clara; Jack Barragan and wife Corina of Silver City; brother-in-law, Alfonso Torres Jr. and wife Rhonda of Silver City; numerous other nieces and nephews that he loved but too many to mention; God-children, Vince Torres, Jack Barragan, Danny Lopez, Samantha Garcia, Aalayzae Carrasco,Jose Dominguez and Billy Ray Barragan. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Pena Barragan; his nephew, Richard "Tite" Maldonado Jr. A rosary will be held Thursday, June 13th at 7pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Richard Rodriguez reciting. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, June 14th at 1pm at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Anthony Basso officiating. Pallbearers will be Billy Ray and Adam Barragan, Brandon and Jeremy Cuevas, Jason Neudecker, Mario Barragan and Eric Jacquez. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of his family and friends.
