She was the daughter of Bert L. and Winifred (Stephenson) Knox. On September 17, 1941, she married Fred Barclay in Newport, Indiana and resided in Springfield since that time.

Mrs. Barclay was a lifetime member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, where she was active in all activities and events in the church over the years. She also served as Deaconess and on many other committees. Mrs. Barclay had worked at Woolworth's, Ohio Edison, Sears, and retired from the Springfield City Schools.

Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law; son and daughter-in-law, all of Springfield, Ohio; grandchildren, of Texas; of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin; of Waynesboro, Virginia; of South Carolina; of Pickens, South Carolina; of Springfield, Ohio; of Donnelsville, Ohio; of Dublin, Ohio; of Urbana; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, and numerous nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert C. Knox and Winifred (Stephenson) Knox; husband, Fred Barclay; son, Tim Barclay; a sister, Gladys (Knox) Lindsay; and Brothers-Alva, Hiawatha, Garland, and Robert Knox.

Inurnment was at the convenience of the family. Memorrial gifts may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 400 Villa Road, Springfield, Ohio 45503.
