Funeral services for Jacqueline Smith Merritt were held Friday Jan 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Minden with Father Mark Franklin. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Minden.

Jacqueline was born June 15, 1953 in Sulphur,La and entered into rest January 8, 2013 in Minden due to a sudden illness.She was a 1971 graduate of Sulphur High School and a 1978 graduate of North East State University with a degree in Pharmacy

She served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. She was a retired pharmacist from the Northwest State School in Bossier City, La. Jacqueline was a quilter with the Red River Quilter and Nona Sales Quilters of Minden.She was a member of the Lane Lassies Bowling League at Holiday Lanes.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years Buddy Merritt of Fryeburg, parents John B. and Bernice Smith of Sulphur, sister Rachel Wilburn and husband Mark of Sulphur, brother Steven Smith of Seattle, Washington, six sister-in-laws, four brother-in-laws and numbers nieces and nephews.
