Bessie Lee Burklow, 93, of Harrisburg, died 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at Cottage Grove Cemetery outside Harrisburg with the Rev. Dr. Rachel Berry officiating. There will be no visitation at Gaskins Funeral Home. Those attending the service should go directly to the cemetery.
She was born Feb. 21, 1908, in Equality to James and Eva (Rude) Yates. She married Clifford Burklow on June 7, 1924, and he preceded her in death on August 2, 1963.
She was a clerk at Polk's Shoe Store and a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Curtis (Marilyn) Burklow, Harrisburg; a granddaughter, Kimberly (Dr. Randall) Black, Murray, Ky., a grandson, Bradley (Patti) Burklow, Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Megan Black, Bradley Black, Madison Burklow, Morgan Burklow; and a sister, Rachel Wargel, Equality.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the United Methodist Church.
