Services for Peters Creek resident Virginia "Liz" Elizabeth Henschel, 27, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Eagle River Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints with Bishop Dennis Barrett officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday in the Relief Society Room of the Eagle River Chapel. Mrs. Henschel died Feb. 22 at Providence Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born June 13, 1959, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, she had graduated from Coeur d' Alene High School in 1977, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 19771980. She moved to Anchorage in 1980, and with her husband has owned the Speedy Color Photo Lab in Eagle River since 1983. She was active in the Latterday Saints Church and the local cancer society, of which she served vicepresident in 1985. She leaves her husband, Duane, her son, Brandon, and her stepsons, Sean and Daniel, all of Peters Creek; her parents, Roger and Virginia Strole, her brother, Gene Strole, and her sisters, Vicki, Ericka, and Jennifer Strole, all of Eagle River; her maternal grandmother, Doris Erickson of Anchorage; and her paternal grandmother, Grace Strole of Hutsonville, Ill. Burial will be in the Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Virginia Henschel Memorial Fund, 19632 Delphin Circle, Eagle River, 99577.
