Valeria Gibbons Berrien was the daughter of U.S. Senator, Hon. John Macpherson Berrien and Eliza Anciaux Berrien and the wife of Joseph Hallett Burroughs.

On June 26, 1828, Valeria Berrien was married to Joseph Hallett Burroughs in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. (Chatham County Marriage Book B., May 12, 1830-July 3, 1837, p. 1, License No. 1254). They were married by Edward Neufuille, Rector of Christ Church in Savannah.

BURROUGHS-The friends and acquaintances of Mrs. JOS. H. BURROUGHS and family are respectfully invited to attend her funeral at 4 o'clock THIS (Monday) AFTERNOON, from Independent Presbyterian Church.
