BRENTWOOD, CA: Mary H. Wheeland-Goldsby passed away peacefully in the company of her loving family on October 2, 2013.

She was loved by many in the community and was one to always help others in need. She had a wonderful loving spirit with a joy for life.

Mary was born October 7, 1939 in Lancaster, Ohio, graduated from Bremen High School in Bremen, Ohio.

She moved her family to Antioch, California in 1978 and worked as a custodian for Antioch Unified School District until 1991. Mary spent 20 years seving others as a volunteer at the Kaiser facilities in Antioch. She married her loving husband Bill in 1997 and accepted his family as her own. She enjoyed reading a good book, doing crossword puzzles, going wine tasting and doing ceramics for many of the Craft Bazaars for the church.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, William (Bill); devoted son, Joseph Wheeland of Antioch; brother, Wiliam (Bill) Getz of Sugar Grove, Ohio; daughters, Leilani (David) Coon and Virginia Redd of Manteca; sons, William Jr. (Bill) of Brentwood, California and Sean (Nikki) odf Dover, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in the journey to be with our Father in Heaven by her son, Michael Wheeland; her father, Jacob Getz and her mother, Edna Getz; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Tolliver; and two brothers, David Getz and John Getz.

Her caring and loving Spirit will be missed but remembered by all of those who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to Immacculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 500 Fairview Avenue, Brentwood, California, for visitation on Wednesday,October 9, 2013 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with vigil services to follow.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery,2200 East 18th Street in Antioch, California.
