Obituary -

Aten, Carrie Grant

On Tuesday, November 11, 1913, at 5 a.m., Mrs. Carrie Grant Aten suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. Her death was a great shock to loves ones and friends. She was born April 8, 1885, and was married to Joe W. Aten on April 16, 1907. Three sweet boys came to bless and brighten their home; Nova, age 4, Miles age 3 and a baby boy, Ralph Grant.

The mother in this home was greatly needed, and will be sadly missed, but somehow we believe that God will in his own good time bring sunshine out of the gloom, and that he will guard with jealous care these little ones left behind.

Mrs. Aten was for a number of years a devoted Christian, as was witnessed by all who knew her. She was ever loyal to her church, her family and every known duty.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church, at four o'clock Tuesday, November 11, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Pyle; interment was made in Wellston Cemetery. Many friends came to mingle their sympathy and tears with the bereaved. To her husband, mother and other loved ones we extend our deepest sympathy, and pray that in this dark hour they may turn their faces heavenward, and catch a glimpse of the happiness which Carrie now has with her Savior, ever remembering that you have the opportunity of meeting her there.
