THE DEATH OF MORRIS PEAK
Morris Peak, one of the most substantial citizens of Lauramie township, died at 8:30 o'clock yesterday morning at his home, Gladden's Corner. His death was the termination of a week's illness from pneumonia. The deceased was 73 years old and the greater part of his life was spent in the community where he died. He was a man of noble character, liberal, and contributed his share to many benevolence. He was intelligent and progressive, was a great benefactor to the community and was greatly admired for his many manly qualities. The announcement of his death will be universally felt and will cause profound regret. By his integrity and close attention to business he has amassed quite a little fortune in farming lands and his last days were spent in a beautiful country home with all the surroundings of comfort. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Eva Irons, Porter Peak and Mrs. Anna Rice, the later living near Crawfordsville. The funeral will be conducted from the residence tomorrow afternoon. Rev. Franklin Mikels of Shadeland will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. E. V. Smith of Stockwell.
