Monday, October 14, 1974 Mr. GENERAL BARNES of 2922 R. Street Silently enter into Eternal Rest. The Viewing will be held at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th Street Richmond, Virginia on Saturday, at 1:15 P.M. The Funeral Services will be held at The Mt. Calvary Holy Church 23rd and Fairmount Ave. on Saturday, at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Elizabeth W. Johnson will be Officiating. The Burial will be at Oak Wood Cemetery.
Mr. General Barnes was a kind, loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Mr. General Barnes will be sincerely missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. General Barnes leaves to cherish his loving memories: his devoted wife, Eva Wood Barnes; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Smith , Mrs. Lucy Allen, Mrs. Odessa Boykin, Mrs. Mildred Miller and Miss Linda Barnes; four sons, Mr. Darthur Barnes, Reverend Wiley Barnes, Mr. General Barnes Jr. and Mr. Billy Barnes; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Velma Rogers, Mrs. Jacqueline Paige and Mrs. Anna Rogers; one stepson, Mr. Henry Cox; forty five grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four daughters-in-laws; six sons-in-laws; one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-laws; a host of nieces, nephews ,other relatives and friends.
