His second wife was Mary Jane Baughman whom he married May 13, 1858.

Isaac S. Osborne served as a 1st Sergeant and Color Sergeant in Company I of the 62nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment in the American Civil War.

He was killed on July 2, 1863, in the heavy fighting in the Wheatfield, and he was initially buried on the road from the Peach Orchard to Little Round Top.

He had enrolled in the service in Brookville, Pennsylvania on July 4, 1861. He was mustered in as a Sergeant on July 29 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the age of 32.
