She married Walter W. Baumgardt June 1, 1921. Ruth and Walter had 4 children, William H., T. Michael, Gayle E. and Patricia Anna who passed away in 1924. She was a member of the old Salem Reformed Church and later Immanuel United Church of Christ, Lafayette, In. and the Ladies Auxiliary of Railroad Trainmen. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Lafayette.
