Herman W Ballerstedt was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Ballerstedt. He and Miss Pauline Hill were married 27 December 1931 in Frederick, Oklahoma. Mr. Ballerstedt worked for J.M. Edwards' M System Grocery as a young man and then operated his own grocery store in Seymour before World War II. He served in the US Air Force from April 1943 to August 1945. He was stationed at Mineral Wells, Keesler Air Base, and El Paso. After his return from the service, his family moved to Wichita Falls where he worked for the US Post Office until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls since 1946. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He had been responsible for the complete card of his wife since 1985. Mr. and Mrs. Ballerstedt were residents of University Park Manor since 1987. Survived by his wife; one sister; one sister-in-law, and nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters.
