A native of Ethel and a resident of St. Francisville, he died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at his residence. He was 56. Visitation at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, Ethel, pastored by the Rev. Thomas H. Lewis, from 9 a.m. Monday until religious service at 11 a.m., with prophet Milton Coats officiating. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by his former wife, Quincy B. Dawson of Violet; a son and daughter-in-law, Alfred and Shawn A. Daggs of Kenner; three grandchildren, Xavier Hite and Tiffany and Alfred Daggs Jr., all of Kenner; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie James and Ora Lee Dawson of Zachary, Herman L. Dawson of Metairie, and Matile Keller of New Orleans; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and James Anderson Sr. and Shirley and Joe Singleton Jr., all of Baton Rouge., Mary and William Coats Sr. of St. Francisville, and Verla D. and Jeff Enery Jr. of Zachary; and a friend, Faye Carter. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Lubertha and Willie Dawson; two brothers, Lutinner Keller and Richard Baker; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Idella and Richard Hayes Sr. and Catherine and Wash Davis Sr. Richardson Funeral Home, Clinton, in charge of arrangements.
