Marie S. Baebler, age 94, of Monticello died Wednesday, January 14. 2004 at the New Glarus Home.
Marie was born on August 9. 1909 in Monticello, the daughter of Leonard and Sarah (Lutsy)
Blum. She attended Monticello High School and married Alvin Baebler on July 16, 1948 at the
Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1983.
Marie lived in Milwaukee for five years and returned to Monticello where she worked at the
B&B Bar for several years. Mrs. Baebler enjoyed needlework, knitting, and reading.
She is survived by a son, James Disch, New Glarus; two grandchildren; three great-
grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Hulda Puttkamer on May
29, 2002.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at 10 am. at Highland Cemetery.
Monticello. Rev. Lawrence Balleine of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello. officiated.
A memorial fund will be established in Marie's name.
The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home of Monticello assisted the family.
