27 Jul 2002: Plattsburg: Virginia A. Wormood, 85, formerly of McMartin Street, died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home. She was born in Beekmantown, NY, on Dec. 21, 1916, the daughter of Fred and Lina (Rea) Marsh. Virginia graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1933 and then from Plattsburgh Normal School in 1936. She then received her master's at Plattsburgh State University in 1951. Virginia taught in several local elementary schools prior to retiring in 1972 from Oak Street Elementary School. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one son, Arthur M(arsh) Wormood of New York City; and three nieces, Rea Bishop of Cicero, NY, Virginia Jaeck of Hartwick, NY, and Sarah Hudson of Macy, IN. She was predeceased by her brother, Herbert Marsh in June 1986; and her sister, Esther Luther in January 2002. Burial will take place at a later date in the East Beekmantown Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the United Methodist Church. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements. [Press Republican]
