Maxine Johnson Leech was born September 17, 1922 in Tuscumbia, Alabama. She spent most of her life in the Memphis area and lived the last 25 years in Grand Valley Lakes in Saulsbury, Tennessee. She loved her family, gardening, fishing, golf, the beach, shell collecting and bird watching. Maxine brought joy to all she met - always insisting on a "hug" whether she had known you a lifetime or just 5 minutes.

Mrs. Leech was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Leech, Jr., and a daughter, Lois. She leaves four sons and daughters-in-law: Bill and Bonnie Leech of Dallas, Texas, Steve and Karen Leech of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Lynn and Brenda Leech of Orlando, Florida and T. J. and Marie Leech of Olive Branch, Mississippi. She leaves one sister, Martha Gilbert of Florence, Alabama; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bolivar.
