Ms. Tanya Ann 'Renee' (Price) Goodman, age 53, formerly of Cantonment, Fl. passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 surrounded by her loving family in Moss Point Ms. She was born October 27, 1959 to Mr. James Cecil Gibson and Joyce Marie (Hudson) Gibson in Pascagoula, Ms. Renee was adopted by Donald Price, Sr. on Dec. 21, 1964 in Pascagoula, Ms.

At the age of twelve Renee's love for travel began when the family made their first move to Wilmington, Delaware. Over the next few years the family moved to many different states and overseas. Renee graduated in 1977 from Toufanian (American) High School in Isfahan, Iran. In 1980 she joined the U. S. Army however a prior medical condition keep her from serving. While stationed in Texas, Renee married and welcomed her only child. Renee and her son settled in Cantonement, Fl. until she again found herself living overseas in the early 2000's. During the Iraq war Renee worked as a civilian contractor where she was injured on two separate occasions. The Forward Operating Base Marez bombing took place on December 21, 2004. Renee had just left her table to return her tray, moments after passing the suicide bomber, the explosion happened and she was hit by shrapnel. She returned to Iraq and was later injured again when a mortar exploded in her camp. Shrapnel came ripping through the wall of the conex building hitting her in the back. She made many good friends during her time in Iraq and she also lost good friends. She suffered terribly with survivors guilt and had just started to share her memories of the bombing shortly before her death. Renee received the "Defense of Freedom Medal" for the injuries she received while working in Iraq. Renee return to Jackson County in 2011 and had lived in Moss Point, Ms. until her passing,

Renee is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jimmy and Viola Hudson, two uncles, "JT" Hudson and Bobby Hudson; two aunts Jackie Hudson and Viola Hester, her beloved Hercules; and a great family friend Mr. Al Goodman.

Ms. Goodman is survived by her parents, Donald (Wilma) Price and Joyce (Hudson) Price; brother, Don (Leslie) Price Jr; son, Shaun Goodman; grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashlyn, Katelyn and Madilyn; uncle, Edward F. Hudson; two aunts, Shiyoko Hudson and Annette Hudson; two nephews, Seth Price and Joshua Price; niece Cheryl Ann Price; her beloved Oreo; many cousins; and a host of worldwide friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to follow starting at 4 pm. Brother Archie Holley will be officiating. There will be no committal service. Renee's ashes will be scattered into the Gulf of Mexico and a memorial marker will be laid at her grandparents graves at a later date. Donations in Renee's name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Renee went to the hospital and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on September 14, 2013. Only 14 days later, on September 27, 2013 she passed away at her home. Within a few hours, the family learned of her half-sister Patricia (Price) Bowers (# 117802773) had also passed away from cancer. Sadly, the sisters passed away on their brother's birthday.
