MRS. VELMA DUMAS
WEST HAVEN - Mrs. Velma Edna Dumas, 71, died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter after a long illness. She was born June 4, 1902 in Benson, daughter of Frederick and Gertrude (Hathaway) Bartholomew.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Charles Charron of West Haven, Mrs. Wilma Mills of Lynn, Mass.; Mrs. Edna Hunt of Foxboro, Mass.; Mrs. Joyce Cote of Berkeley, Mass.; Mrs. Patricia Washburn of Glens Falls, N.Y., and Mrs. Gail Engley of Mansfields, Mass.; one son, MSgt. Edward N Dumas of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; three brothers, Hollis Bartholomew, Clyde Bartholomew and Eugene Bartholomew, all of Benson; 42 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven by the Rev. Lisle Bartholomew.
Burial will be Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven.
There will be no calling hours.
