Mrs. Florence Crediford Dies Suddenly and Many Friends Are Shocked by Death

RIALTO, Feb. 23. The death of Mrs. Florence Crediford, long-time resident of Rialto, was a shock to many in the city yesterday. Mrs. Crediford had been in excellent health, apparently, and her sudden death came at 11 o'clock Saturday night.
Mrs. Crediford was ill but a few hours before her death. Mrs. Merton Brimmer was with her Saturday afternoon and evening, and Dr. L. P. Barbour had been called during the late afternoon when she began to suffer with pains near her heart.
An only child, Royce Crediford of Eugene, Ore., was called immediately and he is expected to arrive in Rialto Tuesday morning. The young man is studying for the ministry and he is completing his last year at the theological school in Oregon. Mrs. Crediford lived in Oregon with the son for three years, but she had returned to her home place on North Riverside avenue this winter.

Mrs. Crediford, who was born in Maine, was the widow of Dr. David B. Crediford, who died suddenly 12 years ago. The Credifords came to Rialto about 26 years ago. Mrs. Crediford was prominent in the Christian church, the Rialto review - of the Woman's Benefit association, and other circles of the city.
Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of the son tomorrow. Stephens & Bobbitt are in charge of the services.
