Mary E. Bond, 85, of Stockertown, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in Easton Hospital. Born: December 27, 1925, in Kershaw County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Bogan C. and Emma Johnson Dees. Personal: Her husband of 55 years, Howard Bond, died May 22, 1997. Mary last worked at Electric Sanitary Laundry. Previously she had owned and operated many businesses. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and needlework. Memberships: Mary was a member of St. Luke s Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Ambassador Club and Nazareth and South Side Senior Centers. Survivors: a son, Howard P. and his wife Chris, of Wendell, NC; a daughter, Barbara L. Markle and her husband Rusty Matthews, with whom she resided; two brothers, Bogan Dees, of Sumter, SC and James Deas, of Cordova, TN; five grandchildren, Kathy Reed and her husband Allen, of Saylorsburg, William K. Markle, Jr., of Tampa FL, Melissa D. Lancaster and her husband Fred, of Gaylord, MI, Cheri Bond, of South Carolina and Colleen Markle, of Wilson Borough; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie and Dick Dees and a sister, Lucille Mathis.
