MRS. AVERY WAS MY ENGLISH TEACHER IN ALBANY HIGH SCHOOL IN 1966-67. Not a nicer teacher would you find.Estelle B. Avery, 73, died on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Estelle is the devoted and loving wife of Dorman F. Avery. She died while they were holding hands. Estelle is the loving mother of Keith, Kevin, and Karen Avery; grandmother (Grammy) to Kyle and Kayla Avery, grandmother (Bibsey) to Angela and Avery David Chapman. She is the mother-in-law of Kim D. Avery and Dr. Richard H. Chapman. Her professional life was spent mainly in education. Estelle was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Albany. She was founding member of the June Drive Literary Club, and was also a member of the Scarlet Chapeaux of the Red Hat Society. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
