She was born in Marshall and lived in that area before moving to Herndon. She is survived by eight daughters, Virginia Ayers, Nannie Belle Carter and Myrtle Carter, all of Chantilly, Catherine Hathaway, New York, Loleta Carter, Irene Carter and Billie Carter, all of Marshall, and Lillie Williams, McLean, two sons, George Carter of Marshall, and Bruce Carter, Herndon, 33 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted August 16 by Rev. J. E. Bethea at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Ada Burial was in Carter cemetery, Ada.
