Martin Wiley Torbert, Sr. age 56 of Laurel, De passed away at his home on Sept. 3, 2013.
Martin was born on March 27, 1956 in Lewes, DE a son of the late Theodore and Mary Torbert.
He was a 1976 graduate of Laurel High School. Martin had previously worked for
Venables Construction and Oliphant Auto Body in Salisbury. He was a past member of the American Legion in Laurel and spent much of his time watching his favorite sports, wrestling and Eagles football. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Mr. Torbert is survived by his wife Linda. His son, Martin Torbert, II and his mother Paula Walls. A brother Larry R. Torbert and his wife Faith of Seaford.
Sisters, Linda T. Williams and husband Randy, Wanda T. Dukes his twin sister,
and Tammy Faulkner all of Laurel. In addition he is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents a sister Carol T. Elzey preceded him in death.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home Laurel, DE on Saturday, Sept 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm, were a viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. The Pastor Rick Elzey will officiate. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
