Garland Constable, 78, of Princeton, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 1986, at Wright Memorial Hospital, Trenton, following an extended illness Mr. Constable was born Dec. 12, 1907, in Mercer County, a son of Howard and Minnie (Heriford) Constable He was a lifelong resident of Princeton and married Avis Marie Kelley Aug. 20, 1927, he was a member of the Modena Baptist Church. A veteran of World War II, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7159 in Princeton.
Survivors Include his wife, Avis, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Helen) Camp, Chllicothe , Mrs. Jerry (Pauline) Yeamans Lebanon, Mrs. Jim (Phyllis) Zimmerman, Princeton, and Mrs. Jerry (Beverly) Stotts, Trenton three sons, Winton D. Constable St. Joseph, William Lee Constable; St. Joseph, and Jack Constable, Kansas City; two others, Richard Constable of
Princeton, and Montford Constable of Winton, Calif.; three sisters, Leah Stinson, Mercer, Rosa Nelson, Princeton, and Elsie Anderson of Davenport, Iowa; 4. Grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; and one brother.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel
in Princeton with the Rev. Leland Heriford officiating. Burial was in the Fairley Cemetery, north of Princeton.
