HAMPTON - Carolyn Rector Dean, 61, was lifted by angels to be reunited with her husband and sole mate, F. Donald Dean, on Aug. 27, 2005. She was born in Hayward County, Canton, N.C., and resided in Hampton, Va. She is survived by her son, Donald Dean and his fiancée, Cheri White; daughters, Karen Stack and Tammy Spellman and her husband, Michael Spellman; mother, Ruby Rector; sisters, Joann Jones and Ernestine Deuell and her husband, Tommy Deuell; brother, Tom Rector and his wife, Carole Rector; six grandchildren, Donald Dean, Jason, Michael and Amanda Stack, Scott and David Spellman; nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and friends. She was a member of Langley Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by all. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Langley Baptist Church by Dr. William Duke and Pastor Jud Nuckols. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 895 Middle Ground Blvd., Ste. 154, Newport News, VA 23606.
