David Porter, 58 [sic 70], of Shreveport, brother of Howard A. Porter of Winnfield, died in a Shreveport hospital early Tuesday after a heart attack following a serious illness. He was born in Grant parish, but spent his earlier years in Winnfield, moving from here about 30 years ago.

Last rites were conducted at the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the pastor, Dr. W. L. Holcomb officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were John Porter, Harmon Porter, Riley Creel, E.J. Buchanan, A.E. Garris and Mr. Parish.

A retired painting contractor, he was a member of the Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Brady Porter, and three grandchildren all of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. W. W. Craven, of Ingleside, Texas; and one brother, H. A. Porter of Winnfield.
