SPRINGFIELD - Louis J. "Bud" Allen, 72, of Springfield, formerly of Riverton, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Morton Terrace in Morton.

He was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Springfield, the son of Louis and Edna Goldbeck Allen.

Mr. Allen was a rural carrier for the U.S. Post Office and worked for the Illinois Central Railroad.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of Living Waters Church, American Legion Post 32 and a charter member of Eagles Aerie 4361.

Survivors: companion, Rose McKinney of Springfield; three daughters, Christine L. (husband, John) Holm of East Peoria, Cynthia L. (husband, Dale) Knott of Manito and Cheryl L. (husband, Bryan) Perkins of Kokomo, Ind.; five grandchildren; a stepgrandson; four stepgreat-grandsons; an aunt; two uncles; and several cousins.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Armstrong officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
