OBIT: Mrs. Mary Sands. Mrs. Mary Sands, widow of John Kane, 84, one of the oldest and highly regarded residents of the Second ward died late yesterday afternoon at the family home 106 East Seneca street, following a long illness. Mrs. Kane was born in Ireland, coming to this country when but a small child. She had been a resident of this city for upwards of 75 years. For many years Mrs. Kane conducted a grocery store on East Ninth and Seneca streets. She was a life long member of St. Paul's church. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. John Bartholomew, three sons, John K., and James F. Kane, this city, George P. Kane, of Chicago. Oswego Daily Palladium Wed. Dec. 12, 1923
NEWS: In Surrogate's Court. Mrs. Mary Cain Left Estate Valued at $5,700. Mary S. Cain, late of this city, left an estate valued at $5,700 according to a petition for the probate of her will filed for probate in Surrogate's Court. Besides a bequest of $100 for masses at St. Paul's Church others who share in the estate are, as follows: Lauretta Bartholomew, daughter $100; Ida Sands and Margaret Fitzsimmens nieces, $50 each. George P. Cain, son $1000 and James F. Cain son, $1,500. The residue of the estate goes to another son John N. Cain, who is named as executor. Oswego Daily Palladium Sat. Feb. 2, 1924
