He was born on October 14, 1946 in Magnolia, Arkansas to the late Samuel Willard and Estelle (Emerson) Barnett. He was a veteran in the United States Army serving during Vietnam, was a Columbia County Sheriff Deputy, and retired from the Haynesville Police Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his former wife, Wanda Barnett.
