CONCORD - Carla Boyd, 49, of Salem Street, Concord, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, in Concord.
She was born in Cabarrus County to Albert Boyd and the late Barbara Smith Boyd on March 7, 1964. Carla was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and was also a graduate of UNC-Charlotte. She was employed with Global Compliance. Carla was a member of Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church and participated in Relay for Life.
Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Kitty M. Sanson Chapel on the campus of Barber Scotia College. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. with funeral services following at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Angela Drye; and a brother, Terry Boyd.
Those left to cherish fond memories includes her father, Albert Boyd (Diane) of Philadelphia, Pa.; four sisters, Benita Boyd, Mimi Boyd, Monique Boyd, all of Concord and Joy Punter of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Darrell Boyd (April) of Indian Trail; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
