This one is rather strange...this is actually Esther Rosalia Mueller. Her actual date of birth is May 21, 1918. She is the daughter of Alfred Joseph Mueller Sr. and Nettie Hazel Heacock. Esther joined the convent in LaCross, Wisconsin and became a Nun shortly after her graduation from St Joseph's Catholic High School May 1935 in Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa. Her family was urged to send her to the convent by their priest Reverend Monsignor J.E. Linkenmeyer, V.F. As a "nun" her name was Sister Rita Mae Mueller. She was a school teacher at a Catholic School in Blackfoot, Bingham, Idaho. At some point before 1940 she sent an urgent letter to her mother. The letter was begging Nettie to come to the convent. Another one of Nettie's daughters, Hazel was attending nursing school in the same area and went in place of her mother. There are several stories of exactly what happened at this point but Esther left the convent (is not there in the 1940 Census) and changed her name and made up a new set of parents (according to family). She never spoke with her parents and most of her siblings again. She did have some limited contact with her sister Mary and her brother Ferdinand. She wrote a book and used the name Evelyn Franche' Wood. She is listed in the obituary of her mother (Nettie Mueller) which states that she is married to Hayden M Wood. Records indicate that she married Hayden Michael Wood in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 19, 1947. She wrote letters to Mary and Ferd using the name Evelyn Wood. I find record where she married Arthur A Allen on January 10, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She used the name Anete E Dupre and listed her residence as Texas. Ferd last had contact with her in the early 90's and said that her health was poor. She had lived in Salt Lake City, Utah and in New York City. She worked as an interior decorator and assisted in decorating the White House during the Kennedy administration. Her actual date of birth is May 21, 1918. Her obituary below list her as the daughter of Pierre Franche and Ann McDonald Dupre. I have researched them and there is no evidence of any such persons existing. Pierre Franche is a Saint and a location in France. According to the funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons, the funeral was handled solely by the Priest of Holy Cross Hospital, and there was no living family listed. If anyone has information on her or any possible children, please contact me. Confirmation via photos was made by the children of Mr. Allen, her second husband. I contacted them via telephone and then emailed photos of her that I had and they confirmed that this was the same person. They did not care for her at all.
